Role Overview

Apple's Silicon Engineering Group (SEG) is seeking an experienced technical leader to drive architecture and RTL for world-class CPU power management solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and specify micro-architecture designs, from high-level exploration to detailed specification.
  • Own and develop RTL design, assessing and refining it to meet power, performance, area, and timing goals.
  • Support verification team in test bench development, formal methods, and simulation/emulation for functional verification.
  • Explore high-performance strategies and work with performance verification team to verify RTL design meets targeted performance.
  • Collaborate with multi-functional engineering team to implement and verify physical design on timing, area, reliability, testability, and power.
Requirements
  • Minimum BS and 10+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of microprocessor architecture, including expertise in dynamic voltage and frequency scaling, advanced thermal and energy management, power state definition and management, and dynamic clocking solutions.
  • Knowledge of Verilog and/or VHDL and experience with simulators and waveform debugging tools.
  • Understanding of low power microarchitecture techniques and high-performance techniques and trade-offs in a CPU microarchitecture.
  • Experience in C or C++ programming and using an interpretive language such as Perl or Python.
