As a CPU Power Optimization Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to oversee the dynamic and static power consumption of the core across various applicable scenarios.

Your role will involve driving CPU power budgeting, measurement, and analysis while establishing global methodologies for power reduction across micro-architecture and gate-level design domains.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the budgeting, measurement, and analysis of overall CPU power for multiple relevant use cases.
  • Collaborate extensively with Microarchitects, RTL, physical design teams, library, and technology groups to identify and implement power reduction strategies.
  • Work alongside Microarchitect and RTL teams to define key metrics and traces to monitor power consumption for diverse use cases.
  • Partner with the design implementation team to optimize design operating points and enhance power efficiency.
  • Collaborate with CAD to drive tools and methodologies aimed at power optimization.
  • Engage closely with the SOC team to model and refine the CPU's power contribution.
Key Qualifications:
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree and over 10 years of relevant industry experience is required. Familiarity with high-performance microprocessor architecture is essential. Knowledge of logic design principles, along with timing and power implications, is necessary. Understanding of low-power microarchitecture and implementation techniques is crucial. Experience in deep submicron technologies and basic device physics is expected. Proficiency in scripting languages such as Perl and C is a must.
Compensation & Benefits:
At Apple, base pay is just one component of our comprehensive compensation package, which is determined within a specified range. This allows for growth and development as you progress in your role. The base pay range for this position is between $175,800 and $312,200, influenced by your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees have the opportunity to become shareholders through participation in our discretionary employee stock programs.

Additionally, employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards and can purchase Apple stock at a discount through our Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
