Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced engineer to drive CPU machine-learning accelerator architecture and RTL development for Apple Silicon.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and specify micro-architecture, from high-level architectural exploration to detailed specification.
  • Own and develop RTL design, targeting power, performance, area, and timing goals.
  • Support verification team in test bench development, formal methods, and simulation/emulation for functional verification.
  • Explore high-performance strategies and work with performance verification team to verify RTL design meets targeted performance.
  • Work with multi-functional engineering team to implement and verify physical design on timing, area, reliability, testability, and power.
Requirements
  • Minimum BS and 3+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of microprocessor architecture, including machine-learning algorithms and mapping to hardware, register renaming, instruction scheduling, and integer, floating-point, and load-store execution.
  • Knowledge of Verilog and/or VHDL, simulators, and waveform debugging tools.
  • Understanding of logic design principles, timing, and power implications, low power microarchitecture techniques, and high-performance techniques and trade-offs in a CPU microarchitecture.
  • Experience in C or C++ programming and an interpretive language such as Perl or Python.
What We Offer

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
