The University of Washington's Information School seeks a qualified candidate to fill the position of Assistant Teaching Professor in Data Science. This role will involve teaching primarily in the Informatics program, which focuses on the study, design, and development of information technology for the benefit of people, organizations, society, and the environment.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach in one or more of the following areas:

  • Data Visualization
  • Artificial Intelligence
  • Applied Data Science, including Business Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Deep Learning
  • Networking and Cloud Privacy in Data Science
  • Data Engineering

This is a full-time appointment at the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor. Available start dates are January 1, 2025, March 1, 2025, or September 1, 2025.

The base salary for this position will be $99,000 - $117,000 per 9-month academic year, commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.

Applicants must have a master's degree (or foreign equivalent) in a relevant field. A PhD (or foreign equivalent) in a relevant field is also acceptable.

Applicants must have 3 years of experience in a technical role in industry, government, or a nonprofit, or experience teaching at least one course as either the lead or assistant instructor.
