Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage and enhance revenue-generating initiatives across various channels, including ticket sales, sponsorship agreements, multimedia rights, licensing, and merchandise.
  2. Supervise specific administrative functions, act as a sport administrator, and spearhead departmental projects focused on revenue generation, marketing, communications, and resource management.
  3. Develop and uphold fair and consistent policies for staff and coaches while overseeing different administrative divisions within the department.
  4. Participate as a member of the executive team and collaborate closely with the Director of the department.
  5. Engage in strategic planning, conduct market assessments, and innovate revenue streams to ensure the financial sustainability and growth of the department.
  6. Guarantee that assigned NCAA sport programs consistently rank among the nation's best.

Essential Qualifications:

  1. A minimum of ten years of progressively responsible experience within a major research institution or a similar complex environment, ideally within a large university or comparable program.
  2. A comprehensive understanding of the collegiate sports landscape and its revenue mechanisms, demonstrated by a successful history of revenue growth and management.
  3. Proficient knowledge of revenue generation principles, sales, marketing, or related fields within the sports sector.
  4. Strong skills in financial analysis and budget oversight.
  5. Exceptional negotiation and relationship management abilities.
  6. In-depth knowledge of intercollegiate athletics issues and terminology.
  7. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills to articulate the university's mission and strategic objectives.
  8. Excellent interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with various stakeholders, including External Affairs, campus leadership, and volunteers.
  9. Proficient communication and presentation skills.
  10. Ability to foster teamwork and lead collaborative efforts towards achieving goals.
  11. Strong management and supervisory capabilities, including staff recruitment, retention, and professional development.
  12. Robust strategic planning, analytical, and organizational skills to devise and implement innovative solutions while adapting to evolving market conditions.
  13. Commitment to adhere to departmental, university, conference, and NCAA regulations.
  14. Willingness to travel as necessary and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
