Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and enhance revenue-generating initiatives across various channels, including ticket sales, sponsorship agreements, multimedia rights, licensing, and merchandise.
- Supervise specific administrative functions, act as a sport administrator, and spearhead departmental projects focused on revenue generation, marketing, communications, and resource management.
- Develop and uphold fair and consistent policies for staff and coaches while overseeing different administrative divisions within the department.
- Participate as a member of the executive team and collaborate closely with the Director of the department.
- Engage in strategic planning, conduct market assessments, and innovate revenue streams to ensure the financial sustainability and growth of the department.
- Guarantee that assigned NCAA sport programs consistently rank among the nation's best.
Essential Qualifications:
- A minimum of ten years of progressively responsible experience within a major research institution or a similar complex environment, ideally within a large university or comparable program.
- A comprehensive understanding of the collegiate sports landscape and its revenue mechanisms, demonstrated by a successful history of revenue growth and management.
- Proficient knowledge of revenue generation principles, sales, marketing, or related fields within the sports sector.
- Strong skills in financial analysis and budget oversight.
- Exceptional negotiation and relationship management abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of intercollegiate athletics issues and terminology.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills to articulate the university's mission and strategic objectives.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with various stakeholders, including External Affairs, campus leadership, and volunteers.
- Proficient communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to foster teamwork and lead collaborative efforts towards achieving goals.
- Strong management and supervisory capabilities, including staff recruitment, retention, and professional development.
- Robust strategic planning, analytical, and organizational skills to devise and implement innovative solutions while adapting to evolving market conditions.
- Commitment to adhere to departmental, university, conference, and NCAA regulations.
- Willingness to travel as necessary and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
