This role involves senior-level managerial responsibilities overseeing the daily operations and initiatives related to the agency's facilities, maintenance, and fleet management. Key responsibilities include:

  • Setting strategic goals and objectives.
  • Formulating guidelines, procedures, and policies.
  • Establishing schedules, priorities, and standards to meet objectives.
  • Coordinating and assessing various business functions and activities.
  • Evaluating budgetary requirements and monitoring expenditures.
  • Supervising a diverse team and providing necessary training and development opportunities.
  • Maintaining strong communication with contractors, state agencies, and private entities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

In this position, you will:

  • Oversee daily operations of staff engaged in facilities, maintenance, and fleet management.
  • Develop and implement evaluation techniques for business functions.
  • Ensure compliance with policies and procedures while monitoring program areas.
  • Collaborate with senior management to establish strategic plans and objectives.
  • Manage budget planning, requests, and expenditures.
  • Conduct data collection and prepare management reports.
  • Provide technical guidance on facilities and fleet management inquiries.
  • Review and coordinate construction and design projects.
  • Participate in program analysis and internal audits.
  • Supervise staff performance and conduct evaluations.
  • Foster a supportive work environment that encourages staff participation in problem-solving.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Travel may be required up to 5% of the time, including potential overnight trips.

QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants should possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or a related field.
  • A minimum of five years of relevant experience in fleet management or facilities administration.
  • At least three years of managerial or supervisory experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Certification as a Texas Contract Manager (CTCM) is preferred.
