Position Summary:
As a Patient Engagement Specialist, you will be instrumental in creating a welcoming atmosphere for patients and visitors at our Medical Center and Emergency Department. Your primary role will involve guiding patients through the Emergency Department processes and addressing the needs of those entering through the Emergency Room entrance. You will collaborate closely with healthcare partners to ensure that the needs of patients and their families are met, embodying the desired Culture of Choice within our healthcare environment.

Key Duties:

  • Greet patients and visitors as they arrive in the waiting area.
  • Engage with patients and their families, managing expectations and proactively addressing their needs.
  • Work in partnership with healthcare staff to resolve inquiries or concerns from family members.
  • Effectively manage waiting areas to mitigate potential issues.
  • Support visitors to alleviate anxiety and foster a welcoming environment.
  • Ensure cleanliness and a therapeutic atmosphere in the waiting area.
  • Serve as the ADA Coordinator, overseeing auxiliary aids and ensuring staff are trained on related services.
  • Understand and adhere to fire and safety protocols.
  • Comply with National Patient Safety Goals.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
Experience:
  • One to two years of experience in Customer Service is preferred.
Certifications:
  • BCLS certification through the American Heart Association (to be obtained within the first six months of employment).
