Position Overview
The Chief Physician is responsible for delivering high-quality medical care, exercising sound clinical judgment, and adhering to best practice standards and evidence-based medicine.

This role encompasses medical services within the boundaries of licensing, training, and credentialing. Additionally, the Chief Physician will engage in practice development, staff training, and quality enhancement.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality medical care, employing sound clinical judgment and adhering to best practice standards.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding all patient, staff, and program matters.
- Lead medical services at designated care sites, ensuring clinical quality, operational efficiency, and patient-centered care.
- Collaborate with the Medical Director to identify and implement department-wide performance improvement initiatives.
- Develop and execute quality improvement strategies utilizing available data to meet departmental quality metrics.
- Supervise and collaborate with advanced practice providers (APPs) as necessary.
- Assist in the recruitment, onboarding, and training of medical personnel.
- Work alongside the Medical Director to provide coverage for peers.
- Coordinate with nursing leadership and collaborate with other specialties to enhance service recovery.
- Actively participate in the development and promotion of Adult Medicine practice sites in conjunction with marketing and outreach teams.
- Provide consultations as required in partnership with community organizations.
- Educate patients on preventive healthcare and chronic disease management, or refer them to appropriate resources.
- Consult with other healthcare professionals to ensure appropriate referrals for acute, chronic, and preventive care.
- Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications
Education:
- Medical Degree from an accredited institution, with board certification/eligibility in a primary care discipline (e.g., Internal Medicine, Family Practice, Medicine/Pediatrics).
- Completion of residency training from an accredited program, valid unrestricted state license, and valid unrestricted DEA certification.
- Familiarity with managed care protocols, PCMH requirements, and electronic medical records is essential.
- CPR Certification is mandatory.

Experience:
- Board Certification or Board Eligibility is required.
- Connecticut Licensure is necessary.
- The candidate must be highly regarded as a clinician with leadership potential, capable of motivating a team and providing operational guidance.
- Previous experience in quality improvement, financial management, operational oversight, and/or personnel management within a clinical setting is advantageous.
