Position Overview

The Chief Physician is responsible for delivering competent and prudent medical care, ensuring effective management, and exercising sound clinical judgment based on best practices and evidence-based medicine. This role encompasses a range of responsibilities, including practice development, staff training, and quality enhancement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver competent medical care, maintain confidentiality regarding all patient and staff matters.
  • Lead medical services at designated care sites, ensuring clinical quality, operational efficiency, and patient-centered care.
  • Collaborate with the Medical Director to identify and implement department-wide performance improvement initiatives.
  • Supervise and collaborate with advanced practice providers as necessary.
  • Assist in the recruitment, onboarding, and training of medical personnel.
  • Work alongside the Medical Director to provide coverage for colleagues.
  • Coordinate with nursing leadership and collaborate with various specialties to enhance service recovery.
  • Engage in the development and promotion of the Adult Medicine practice in collaboration with marketing and outreach teams.
  • Provide consultations as needed in partnership with community organizations.
  • Educate patients on preventive healthcare and chronic disease management, referring them to appropriate resources when necessary.
  • Consult with other healthcare professionals to ensure appropriate referrals for comprehensive care.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications

Education: Medical Degree from an accredited institution, board certification/eligibility in a primary care specialty (e.g., Internal Medicine, Family Practice), completion of residency training, valid unrestricted state license, valid DEA certification, and familiarity with managed care protocols and electronic medical records. CPR certification is mandatory.

Experience: Board Certification or Board Eligibility is required. Candidates must be well-regarded as clinicians with leadership potential, capable of motivating teams and providing operational guidance. Experience in quality improvement, financial management, and personnel oversight within a clinical setting is advantageous.
