Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Police Officer to join our team at the University of Minnesota. As a Police Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for students, faculty, and staff on campus.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patrol assigned areas on foot, bicycle, motorcycle, or patrol car to interact with the community and deliver service.
  • Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls for service, including providing medical assistance when necessary.
  • Enforce applicable statutes and ordinances, issue traffic citations, and make arrests as needed.
  • Work with the University community to increase safety through collaboration, problem-solving, and education.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including investigative or specialty assignments.
Requirements
  • Have a Two-Year Degree from a regionally accredited program and be enrolled in a professional peace officer education program.
  • Be eligible to be licensed as a peace officer by the Minnesota POST Board.
  • Pass a pre-employment background investigation and possess a valid U.S. Driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Candidates with prior relevant sworn law enforcement experience are preferred.
