About the Role

Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Surgical Support Assistant to join our Perioperative team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms, providing exceptional support to our surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nurses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available.
  • Deliver sterile equipment and supplies to the operating room, maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Assist with inventory management, ordering and stocking of sterile supplies, and reporting stock shortages to supervisors.
  • Collaborate with the perioperative team to ensure seamless communication and efficient workflow.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of process improvements.
Requirements
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Perioperative Assistant or Central Processing Technician.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to operate patient care equipment and lift medium to heavy weights.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
