Position Overview:
As the Director of Patient Care for Maternity Services, you will hold a pivotal role with 24-hour accountability for the Maternity department, which encompasses Labor and Delivery, Special Care Nursery, Family-Centered Care, and Childbirth Education. Collaborating closely with the Chief Nursing Officer, you will monitor patient population trends and acuity, ensuring optimal management of Human Resources.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct regular rounds in designated areas to ensure compliance with care standards and practices, including the development of individualized care plans.
2. Design, implement, and assess innovative systems that enhance the efficient delivery of patient care.
3. Develop and manage the approved budget while evaluating staff competencies and educational needs in response to evolving patient requirements.
4. Foster a nurturing environment for employees, promoting a culture characterized by compassion, respect, and collaboration.

Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is required.
- A minimum of three years of clinical experience in nursing, specifically in Labor and Delivery, is essential.
- Comprehensive understanding of clinical and professional practice issues and processes.

Licensure and Certifications:
- Current RN licensure in Massachusetts
- BLS and ACLS certifications are mandatory.

Technical Proficiency:
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Meditech systems is required.
