Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Structural Project Engineer to join our team at Salas O'Brien, Inc. in Portland, ME.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for producing engineering documents, supervising staff, and interacting with clients regarding technical design issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement structural engineering designs for buildings in various sectors, including Life Sciences, Tech, Civic, Education, Mixed-use, hospitality, Industrial, and Healthcare.
  • Lead and mentor Staff Engineers and CAD staff to ensure project deliverables meet quality standards.
  • Foster effective communication with clients to address technical design queries, coordinate document preparation, and manage submittal schedules.
  • Monitor project costs and ensure compliance with contractual obligations, emphasizing efficiency and timely completion.
Requirements
  • Possess a Professional Engineer license in Maine and be able to obtain NCEES registration for New England State PE certifications as required.
  • Hold an accredited BS degree in Civil Engineering with relevant coursework in Structural Engineering.
  • Demonstrate at least 10 years of experience in structural engineering, with expertise in steel, concrete, masonry, precast, cold framed metal, and wood-framed building structure design.
  • Proven experience with Building Information Modeling (Revit) and relevant structural engineering software like RAM, RISA, and other similar packages.
  • Ability to travel within New England states as needed for project-related purposes.
