Learning Support Specialist for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Students

We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Specialist to join our team in supporting deaf and hard of hearing students. This role involves working closely with teachers, students, and parents to ensure the successful inclusion of these students in our educational programs.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will have strong communication skills in sign language and experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing. They will assist teachers in instructing students individually or in small groups, prepare instructional materials, and provide routine clerical support. The Learning Support Specialist will also be responsible for enhancing student understanding and learning activities using various instructional techniques.
Key Responsibilities- Assist teachers in instructing students individually or in small groups in accordance with prescribed learning objectives
- Prepare instructional materials and provide routine clerical support
- Enhance student understanding and learning activities using visual, auditory, kinesthetic, and tactile instructional techniques
- Tutor individual or small groups of deaf and hard of hearing students and other Special Education students as assigned
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Strong communication skills in sign language
- Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Ability to work effectively with teachers, students, and parents
- Strong organizational and time management skills
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of our students and their families. We offer a competitive salary of $65,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
