Job Summary

Assist students with moderate to severe disabilities in achieving their vocational, community, communication, and recreational goals as outlined in Individualized Educational Plans (IEPs). Develop essential life skills such as personal hygiene, social interactions, community awareness, and independent travel.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support students in attaining vocational, community, communication, and recreational goals according to IEPs.
  • Assist in developing life skills including hygiene, social interactions, community awareness, and independent travel.
  • Collaborate with teachers to train students for independent functioning.
  • Help students use assistive technology devices.
  • Provide coaching and assistance to students at job sites, applying for jobs, and interviewing.
  • Support students in community-based vocational training, public transportation, and community activities.
  • Develop students' independent travel skills, including crossing streets, using public transportation, and handling money.
