About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Loan Accounting Manager to join our team at Prosper. As a key member of our financial operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire loan accounting function, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting, and driving process improvements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the entire loan accounting function, including loan accounting, loan reconciliations, analytics, internal control compliance, and technical research and documentation.
  • Prepare accounting entries and account reconciliations for various financial activities, including borrower and investor payables/receivables, revenue/contra-revenue, securitization accounting, loan servicing, and debt sales.
  • Review journal entries and other work performed by other accounting staff to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
  • Prepare monthly financial statement fluctuation analyses for management reporting.
  • Assist with or prepare schedules to support regulatory and management reporting, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.
  • Work cross-functionally with business partners to provide financial insights and relevant reporting.
  • Assist with documentation and information required for year-end audit.
  • Participate in the ongoing development, establishment, and documentation of accounting policies and procedures.
  • Identify areas for process improvement, provide recommendations, and execute on changes.
  • Play an active role in systems upgrades and data testing.
  • Deliver on ad-hoc projects/deliverables as necessary.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 8+ years of experience in loan accounting, with a strong understanding of GAAP accounting policies and practices.
  • Experience with organizations providing consumer lending products is ideal.
  • Detailed understanding of how data flows through financial systems to the accounting function.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Motivated self-starter with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with SQL or GCP.
  • Experience with NetSuite is a plus.

At Prosper, we offer a competitive salary range of $119,000 - $189,000 annually, plus bonus and generous benefits.
