Job Summary:

Nuvance Health is seeking a skilled Front Office Coordinator to provide exceptional customer service to patients and families. This role is responsible for greeting patients, initiating the information flow and records keeping process, and preparing records for electronic billing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Answer phones and obtain demographic and financial information
  • Schedule new and follow-up patient appointments in the electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Register patients in the hospital system and verify insurance
  • Verify coverage and obtain authorization for procedures as needed
  • Request and retrieve medical records, prepare them for provider review, and obtain signatures and consents from patients and families
  • Maintain schedules in cooperation with nursing staff, conduct patient reminder calls, and reschedule as needed
  • Work with providers to obtain signatures for patient paperwork and coordinate insurance information and patient supply needs
  • Scan records into the EMR and hospital system to maintain financial records
  • Review EMR documentation and superbills for completeness and enter charges into the Cerner Batch Tool
  • Reconcile charges from the EMR with charges entered into Cerner and monitor pre- and post-bill edit queues

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Data entry and keyboard/computer skills
  • Customer service skills
  • Healthcare experience preferred, with medical terminology and insurance authorization experience a plus

Work Environment:

This role is a per diem position with standard hours of 8.00 and a work schedule of day 8 with a work shift of 7:30a-4p. The organization unit is 144, and the department is Wound Care Ctr.
