Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Medical Office Float team as a Full-Time employee. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical office settings and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Prepares materials, supplies, equipment, and patients to assist physicians or physician assistants with medical exams.
• Obtains patient histories and basic medical data, such as vital signs, temperature, height, and weight, vision, and chief complaint.
• Provides direct patient care, including ear irrigation, vaccinations, and medications, wound care, and suture removal.
• Collects, prepares, and analyzes patient specimens as directed by physicians or physician assistants.
• Instructs patients and families on how to perform physician-recommended preventive care, take prescribed medications, prepare for tests, monitor treatment progress, and note symptom changes.
• Contacts patients by telephone to provide requested follow-up, advise them of test results, or relay physician instructions.
• Performs organizational responsibilities to achieve the Practice's and WCMG missions through a process of total quality improvement.
• Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
• Maintains and models Nuvance Health values.
• Demonstrates regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.

Requirements:

• Current RN license in CT State.
• Five years of job-related experience preferred.
• One year of supervisory experience required.
• Medical knowledge and terminology.
• Computer skills/data entry (including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook).
• Knowledge of insurance contracts and requirements.
• Clinical and business office functions, including direct patient care.
• Verbal and written English proficiency.
