Position Overview:
This role is essential for the development, execution, and management of capital enhancement projects associated with water facilities, including upgrades to water treatment systems, pump stations, storage tanks, pipelines, and other infrastructure, as well as improvements to wastewater facilities, lift stations, and collection systems.
The individual will serve as the lead project engineer for enhancements and modifications to water and wastewater systems, collaborating closely with company personnel to ensure successful project execution.
Active participation in both short-term and long-term system planning is expected. The candidate will effectively manage consultants and contractors to ensure timely project delivery.
The immediate focus for this position will be on supporting water treatment initiatives, particularly those related to PFAS treatment projects.
Collaboration with Engineering and Operations teams is vital, as the candidate will manage and coordinate program activities through a cross-functional team approach.
Ensuring satisfaction of the Asset Owner is crucial by delivering projects that meet the success criteria outlined in the project plan, including operational performance, budget adherence, schedule compliance, and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the development, design (whether internal or external), and delivery of capital projects in line with engineering standards and procurement guidelines.
Assist in supervising construction management teams to guarantee timely task completion, budget adherence, and compliance with asset management documentation and applicable standards.
Ensure that corporate Technical and Environmental Health and Safety/Security standards are integrated into design specifications.
Manage and report on project expenditures to ensure alignment with budgetary constraints, prioritizing projects based on available funding and risk evaluations.
Enhance project delivery efficiency by monitoring delivery metrics and employing alternative procurement and delivery methods.
Facilitate environmental and governmental permitting in collaboration with local business unit personnel.
Contribute to the development of engineering design and delivery processes and standards.
Provide technical expertise on engineering and operational challenges and support facility condition assessments for water and wastewater operations.
Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively across corporate and local business units.
