Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our team at Veolia North America. As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing capital improvement projects related to water facilities, including water treatment upgrades, pump stations, storage tanks, pipelines, and other facilities, as well as wastewater upgrades related to wastewater plants, lift stations, and the collection system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement project plans, schedules, and budgets for capital improvement projects.
  • Manage project development, design, and construction, including coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with engineering guidelines, procurement policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage project expenditures and prioritize projects based on available funding and risk assessment.
  • Support the oversight of construction management personnel and ensure timely completion of assignments, budget compliance, and adherence to applicable standards.
  • Participate in master planning efforts for existing systems and new acquisitions, and prepare short-term and long-term capital improvement plans.
  • Provide technical expertise on engineering and operational issues, and support facility condition assessments.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing design or construction projects, preferably in the water and wastewater industry.
  • Strong project management skills, including initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, controlling, and closing.
  • Thorough working knowledge of water and wastewater processes and treatment options.
  • Superior personal effectiveness skills, visible leadership by example, and strong communication, presentation, and reporting skills.
  • Knowledge or experience in utilizing alternate project delivery methods and contracting methods.
