Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly skilled Water/Wastewater engineer to lead engineering tasks and projects in the water/wastewater field. The selected candidate will work closely with a design team to develop construction plans and specifications for various design projects, perform design computations, and design projects in accordance with client specifications and guidelines.

  • Coordination with clients, contractors, outside consultants, government agencies and firm staff
  • Some business development activities such as proposal writing and project interviews
Requirements:
  • Candidates must have the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-production office environment, build successful team relationships and maintain positive coworker interactions
  • Candidates must demonstrate familiarity with hydraulic designs, sewer rehabilitation, water and sewer design, water and water/wastewater treatment process design, engineering economics, preparation of specifications and engineering report writing
  • Candidates must demonstrate organized practices, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and have flexibility to support time-critical report development and production in order to meet demanding schedules
  • Candidates should have a firm grasp of general heavy construction principles; environmental facilities operations-related experience is considered a plus
  • Applicant should demonstrate strong team-building skills
  • Candidate should be able to present technical writing product to internal team
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Possess a Professional Engineering License in the state of Maryland or have the ability to acquire a license through reciprocity within six months of employment
  • A passing grade on the NCEES Fundamentals of Engineering exam is preferred
  • Experience working with local clients
Working Conditions:

Work is performed within a general office environment 95% of the time. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.

Field work is required on occasion where work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Some lifting (up to 25 lbs) may be required as needed.
