Production Supervisor Truss Shop Leader

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Supervisor to join our Truss Shop team at Builders FirstSource. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of workers engaged in production activities at our facility.
Key Responsibilities- Schedule and direct workers in truss or panel manufacturing to ensure efficient production and meet schedule demands.
- Interview and select hires to ensure that the department is fully staffed for production needs.
- Train workers in safe and correct equipment operation to maintain a safe working environment.
- Study production schedules and estimate worker hour requirements and work procedures to meet schedule demands.
- Apply company policies and ensure alignment with core values and compliance with safety regulations.
- Recommend measures to improve productivity, equipment performance, quality of product, and efficiency.
- Analyze and resolve work problems or assist workers in solving work problems.
- Initiate or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
- Maintain time and production records.
- Confer with management and area leads to coordinate activities of individual departments.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Three to five years related experience and/or training
- Prior experience supervising preferred
- Excellent communication skills
- Observes safety and security procedures - reports and corrects potentially unsafe conditions/acts
- Ability to operate under pressure while maintaining emotions
- Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner
- Forward thinking - Improves processes, products, and services
- Works well in a team atmosphere - promotes team mentality
- Accepts responsibility for subordinates' activities as well as their own

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; outside weather conditions; extreme cold and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
