Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct intensive investigative interviews to gather and evaluate financial and non-financial information to determine eligibility for assistance.
  • Research, interpret, and apply federal, state, and local policies governing eligibility, legal rights, and responsibilities of applicants.
  • Determine correct public assistance benefits through direct client contact via office interview, home visits, and telephone in compliance with required state and federal time frames.
  • Provide superior customer service and community relations by answering phones, responding to emergency needs, and troubleshooting problems.
  • Collaborate with various agencies and support services to verify appropriate levels of benefits and/or services.
  • Authorize monetary benefits, identify risk factors, and report to appropriate services as needed.
  • Respond to financial and non-financial cross matches and alerts, and prepare Fraud and Program Integrity referrals.
Requirements
  • Associate's Degree in a Human Services-related field, Public/Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, or Communication.
  • Two years of experience dealing with the general public in a position requiring the utilization of investigative interviewing techniques or provision of employment and training-related services.
  • Competency requirements include attention to detail, self-management, accountability, written and verbal communication skills, integrity/honesty, interpersonal relations, leveraging technology, data gathering and analysis, and customer service and community relations.
