Job Summary

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of plant equipment and facilities to ensure optimal operating conditions. This role involves designing and implementing strategies to maintain smooth and efficient operations, as well as coaching and developing maintenance leads, technicians, and apprentices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Directs and schedules maintenance technicians, including interviewing, hiring, training, and performance reviews
  • Works with engineering, plant, and automation managers to schedule maintenance and maximize departmental capabilities
  • Leads team meetings and oversees the computerized maintenance management system
  • Ensures maintenance information is properly communicated within the organization
  • Creates, tracks, and reviews the maintenance budget
  • Works with contractors and vendors for project and equipment quotes and scheduling
  • Develops and maintains the preventative maintenance process and schedules
  • Partners with operations to identify and execute continuous improvement projects
  • Oversees cleaning and maintenance of grounds, parking lots, fencing, and building facilities
  • Troubleshoots complex problems with equipment when maintenance technicians need assistance

Requirements:

  • Technical degree in technical/engineering preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in maintenance management or mechanics
  • 3+ years of experience in management/supervisory role preferred
  • Ability to operate forklifts, scissors, and aerial lifts
  • Strong skill set and education within electrical, mechanical automation, PLC, and SCADA systems
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and percentages
  • Read and understand technical drawings to repair/maintain equipment
  • Valid driver's license
