The Maintenance Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the optimal functioning of plant equipment and facilities. This position requires a strategic thinker who can design and implement effective maintenance strategies to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct and schedule maintenance technicians, including interviewing, hiring, training, and performance reviews
- Collaborate with engineering, plant management, and automation teams to schedule maintenance and optimize departmental capabilities
- Lead team meetings and ensure effective communication within the organization
- Oversee and manage the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
- Develop and maintain the maintenance budget and ensure accurate record-keeping
- Work with contractors and vendors to schedule projects and equipment maintenance
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance processes and schedules
- Partner with operations to identify and execute continuous improvement projects
- Ensure team members complete work orders and records accurately and timely
- Troubleshoot complex equipment problems and provide technical guidance to maintenance technicians
Requirements:
- Technical degree in engineering or a related field preferred
- 5+ years of experience in maintenance management or mechanics
- 3+ years of experience in a management or supervisory role preferred
- Ability to operate heavy equipment, such as forklifts and aerial lifts
- Strong technical skills in electrical, mechanical, and automation systems
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and equipment manuals
- Valid driver's license
