Maintenance Manager Job Summary

The Maintenance Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the optimal functioning of plant equipment and facilities. This position requires a strategic thinker who can design and implement effective maintenance strategies to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct and schedule maintenance technicians, including interviewing, hiring, training, and performance reviews
  • Collaborate with engineering, plant management, and automation teams to schedule maintenance and optimize departmental capabilities
  • Lead team meetings and ensure effective communication within the organization
  • Oversee and manage the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
  • Develop and maintain the maintenance budget and ensure accurate record-keeping
  • Work with contractors and vendors to schedule projects and equipment maintenance
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance processes and schedules
  • Partner with operations to identify and execute continuous improvement projects
  • Ensure team members complete work orders and records accurately and timely
  • Troubleshoot complex equipment problems and provide technical guidance to maintenance technicians

Requirements:

  • Technical degree in engineering or a related field preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in maintenance management or mechanics
  • 3+ years of experience in a management or supervisory role preferred
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment, such as forklifts and aerial lifts
  • Strong technical skills in electrical, mechanical, and automation systems
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings and equipment manuals
  • Valid driver's license
