Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join our team at Alief Independent School District. As a School Health Services Coordinator, you will play a vital role in implementing the district's school health program and providing direct services to meet the needs of students and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement district school health program and provide direct services to meet the needs of students and staff under the direct clinical supervision of the school health coordinator or school nurse (RN).
  • Administer medication to students according to board policy and district procedures.
  • Carry out mandatory screening programs, collect data, and complete required reports as directed.
  • Collaborate with campus principal, school counselor, teachers, parents, food service, and other staff regarding the health needs of the general population and those students with identified health conditions as directed by the supervising RN.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential student health records, including immunization records, medication administration records, and individual student treatment records.
Requirements
  • Valid Texas license (LVN) issued by the Board of Vocational Nurse Examiners.
  • Current cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and automated external defibrillator (AED) certificates.
  • One (1) year experience in health-related position; experience working with school-age children.
Working Conditions

This position requires frequent standing, sitting, kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing pulling, and twisting. The work environment is fast-paced and requires the ability to work with frequent interruptions. The successful candidate must be able to maintain emotional control under stress and work in an environment with exposure to biological hazards, bacteria, and communicable diseases.
