As our society ages and the prevalence of obesity and diabetes rises, coupled with an increase in surgical interventions, the demand for expert care for non-healing wounds is surging.

The Clinical Coordinator (CC)/Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL) plays a pivotal role in orchestrating the clinical operations of the Wound Care Center.

Responsibilities may encompass patient care evaluation, care planning and execution, as well as initiatives aimed at enhancing patient care quality.

This role collaborates closely with the Program Director and Medical Director to fulfill the Center's objectives and ensure optimal healing results and patient satisfaction.


All clinicians at Healogics Centers are expected to execute their duties in accordance with Healogics policies, hospital regulations, and the standards set by accrediting bodies, federal and state laws, and the guidelines of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), as applicable.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Expertise in all aspects of Case Management, potentially overseeing a patient group and conducting specific assessments in line with established protocols, demonstrating clinical proficiency in procedural skills, treatments, and patient/caregiver education regarding wound care management.
  • Efficiently organizes and prioritizes clinical tasks, providing oversight to clinical personnel, including Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs), Certified Medical Assistants (CMAs), and Hyperbaric Oxygen Technicians.
  • Engages with other healthcare professionals, key hospital staff, Wound Care Center Providers, Program Director, and Medical Director concerning clinical and patient requirements.
  • Continuously evaluates existing processes and procedures, identifying and implementing improvements while adhering to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Department of Health (DOH), and Healogics standards.
  • Facilitates staff development through general training sessions and individualized instruction.
  • Recognizes staff achievements through positive reinforcement and constructive feedback.
  • Works alongside the Program Director to align program objectives from a financial and budgetary perspective.
  • If applicable, coordinates vein clinic services and provides care following Healogics Vein Clinic training.
  • Collaborates with Program Director and Medical Director to meet Wound Care Center quality benchmarks.
  • May serve as a Documentation Assistant (scribe) in compliance with Healogics and hospital policies.
  • After completing the necessary training, may take on hyperbaric safety director responsibilities.
  • Following required hyperbaric training, may act as a chamber operator or emergency chamber operator.
  • Provides patient care in accordance with Center staffing needs.
  • Undertakes additional duties as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Current RN (Registered Nurse) license, to be maintained throughout employment.
  • Minimum of an Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN); Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • At least one year of RN experience required; two or more years preferred.
  • Prior supervisory experience is advantageous.
  • Wound care certification is preferred.

Essential Skills:

  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
  • Strong planning, organization, prioritization, and time-management abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, including presentation capabilities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly at all organizational levels.
  • Capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong customer service and follow-up skills.
  • Proficient analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Leadership and team-building capabilities.
  • Research and instructional skills.
  • Change management and problem-solving proficiency.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) is preferred.
  • Knowledge of hospital databases and web-based systems is beneficial.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to remain stationary for extended periods (4 hours or more).
  • Prolonged viewing of computer screens (4 hours or more).
  • Frequent keying on a computer for 4 hours or more.
  • Mobility and movement.
  • Adequate vision for close, distance, and peripheral tasks.
  • Proficient reading and writing skills.
  • Ability to lift/move items up to 20 pounds.
  • Capability to lift/move items up to 75 pounds with assistance.
  • Proficient in pushing/pulling and bending/stooping.
  • Ability to reach, grasp, and manipulate objects.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary.

The salary for this position typically ranges between $66,000 and $108,110.00 annually.


This range is an estimate based on various factors, including employee qualifications, experience, geographic location, and operational needs.
