As a Scientific Instrumentation Specialist, you will be responsible for designing, building, testing, and supporting scientific instrumentation for the McDonald Observatory's instrument and telescope development projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and build scientific instrumentation using a variety of materials and techniques
  • Test and calibrate scientific instrumentation to ensure it meets performance requirements
  • Collaborate with project leadership and staff to develop design concepts and requirements for new projects

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • At least six years of relevant experience in scientific instrumentation design and development

The estimated salary range for this position is $95,000-$130,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
