Position Overview:

Independently conducts thorough research and analysis of legal sources, including statutes, judicial decisions, legal articles, treaties, constitutions, and legal codes to draft essential legal documents such as briefs, pleadings, and appeals for attorney review and utilization.


Key Responsibilities:
Conducts legal research, investigates facts, and prepares documents independently to assist attorneys with various legal matters.

Summarizes intricate legal documents

Organizes and indexes comprehensive case files

Identifies and tracks critical deadlines

Performs a wide range of legal research and data compilation with minimal supervision

Files legal pleadings with the court clerk

Drafts reports, correspondence, declarations, and complaints

Creates diverse legal documents

Drafts discovery requests and responses

Identifies and prepares necessary document productions

Determines required documents from clients

Drafts and issues third-party requests and subpoenas

Summarizes records obtained from external parties

Maintains production logs

Develops and updates fact chronology databases, including cross-referencing documents and key facts

Creates and maintains a 'cast of characters' database

Possesses proficient knowledge of TrialDirector (TD 360) (preferred)

Prepares affidavits and maintains document files

Prepares for mediations and trials

Assists attorneys during trial proceedings

Supports attorneys in deposition preparation

Communicates with witnesses and experts

Handles scheduling tasks

Enters billing and expense data into the firm’s system promptly

Coordinates significant projects or cases, which may involve collaboration with multiple paralegals.

Qualifications:
Paralegal certification or degree from an accredited institution

4+ years of paralegal experience, preferably in labor/employment litigation

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook; Lexis-Nexis, WestLaw, Live Note, Concordance, Case Map, Docketing, Document Management Systems, and billing systems.
