Retail Studio Supervisor

Join the team at Design Within Reach as a Retail Studio Supervisor. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate closely with the Studio General Manager to drive the success of our sales and support teams, ensuring a thriving environment within our studio. Our locations serve as vibrant retail spaces and community hubs for design enthusiasts, fostering continuous engagement between our clientele, our curated furniture selection, and our dedicated team.

As the Studio Lead, you will provide essential leadership and support to the studio team, taking on management responsibilities in the absence of the Proprietor. Your role will involve a balance of client interaction to drive sales and exceptional service, alongside supporting the Proprietor with various leadership initiatives, including coaching on sales techniques, talent acquisition, and training.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enhance business growth weekly through the utilization of company programs and tools.
  • Strengthen client connections to the Design Within Reach brand and promote outreach within the local design community.
  • Directly oversee all Sales Assistants and Studio Interns.
  • Develop a deep understanding of product offerings and industry trends.
  • Manage the complete client lifecycle to meet and exceed sales objectives.
  • Create tailored client floor plans and design presentations.
  • Facilitate an exceptional client experience, becoming an expert in educating clients about product stories and details.
  • Conduct in-home client consultations and engage with local trade professionals.
  • Participate in studio meetings, product training sessions, and share insights with peers to foster continuous growth in product knowledge.
  • Assist in upholding the studio's design and visual standards according to merchandising guidelines.
  • Address customer needs and resolve issues in alignment with Design Within Reach Client Experience standards.
  • Collaborate with fellow associates to promote a positive team environment.

Qualifications:

This position may be a great fit for you if you possess:

  • A background in interior design or architecture is preferred.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in retail leadership.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with internal and external stakeholders.
  • The ability to identify client needs, solve problems, and articulate product features and benefits.
  • Experience with POS systems and proficiency in MS Office, Gmail, web navigation, and 3-D rendering software.
  • The capability to routinely lift objects weighing over 20 pounds and an understanding of safety protocols.
