Position: Facilities Maintenance Technician - 2nd Shift

Overview:

Reporting to the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor, the Facilities Maintenance Technician will engage in essential tasks such as carpentry, painting, plumbing, and basic electrical work within the facility. Flexibility in work hours is necessary, and overtime may be required. Weekend and holiday shifts may also be part of the role. Adherence to safety protocols and compliance with all operational guidelines is mandatory. This is a tobacco-free workplace.

Key Responsibilities:

The Facilities Maintenance Technician will serve as a vital team member, contributing to the ongoing enhancement of all maintenance activities while ensuring that all tasks are executed safely and meet the standards set by the organization.

Required Qualifications:

  • Proficient in English for effective communication (both verbal and written) regarding technical matters
  • A collaborative team player with a constructive attitude
  • Experience in plumbing, including installation and repair of PVC piping, drain clearing, and leak repairs
  • Knowledge of basic electrical systems, including installation and repair of components like receptacles and lighting
  • Capability to repair and maintain air compressors
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Possession of a complete set of essential hand tools
  • Physical ability to bend, stoop, and manipulate tools in confined spaces
  • Comfortable performing tasks at heights

Preferred Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years in facilities maintenance
  • Experience in carpentry, concrete work, or heavy equipment operation is advantageous
  • Familiarity with fire suppression systems is a plus
  • Experience with air compressors is preferred

Physical and Job Site Requirements:

  • Ability to complete electronic hiring paperwork
  • May need to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Must possess sufficient strength and stamina to fulfill the technical duties outlined
  • Ability to navigate confined spaces and uneven terrain
  • Full range of motion appropriate for age
  • Capability to climb and maintain balance on ladders
  • Adequate hearing to respond to voice commands and alarms
  • Visual acuity, depth perception, and color discrimination suitable for working at heights and on uneven surfaces
  • Safety/steel-toe footwear is mandatory.
