Position: Facilities Maintenance Technician - 2nd Shift

Overview:

Under the supervision of the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor, the Facilities Maintenance Technician will engage in essential tasks including basic carpentry, painting, plumbing, and fundamental electrical work throughout the facility. Flexibility in work hours is necessary, and overtime may be required. Weekend and holiday shifts may also be part of the role. Adherence to safety protocols in all operational activities is mandatory, along with compliance with all relevant safety policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

The Facilities Maintenance Technician will serve as a vital team member, contributing to the ongoing enhancement of all maintenance operations, ensuring that all tasks are executed safely and in accordance with the established standards.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in English for effective communication (both verbal and written) regarding technical matters
  • A collaborative team player with a constructive attitude
  • Experience in plumbing, including installation and repair of PVC piping, drain clearing, and leak repairs
  • Basic electrical skills, including installation and repair of components such as receptacles and lighting
  • Capability to repair and maintain air compressors
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Possession of a complete set of basic hand tools
  • Physical ability to stoop, bend, and maneuver tools in confined spaces
  • Experience working at heights

Preferred Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years in facilities maintenance
  • Experience in carpentry, concrete work, or heavy equipment operation is advantageous
  • Familiarity with fire suppression systems is a plus
  • Preferred experience with air compressors

Physical and Job Site Requirements:

  • Ability to complete hiring documentation electronically
  • May require lifting and carrying items up to 50 pounds
  • Must possess sufficient strength and stamina to fulfill the technical duties outlined
  • Ability to navigate confined spaces and uneven terrain
  • Full range of motion appropriate for age
  • Capability to climb and maintain balance on ladders
  • Adequate hearing to respond to verbal commands and alarms
  • Visual acuity and depth perception necessary for working at heights and on uneven surfaces
  • Safety/steel-toe footwear is mandatory.
