Overview

GovCIO is seeking a skilled Virtualization Systems Engineer to support our initiatives. This role is pivotal in managing server operations, encompassing hardware, operating systems (OS), and essential utilities.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee server operations, including hardware and OS management.
- Demonstrate expertise in various operating systems, focusing on planning, deploying, maintaining, and supporting servers such as Red Hat Enterprise Linux or Windows, along with database systems and backup solutions.
- Assist in restorations, application installations, testing, and provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 support while troubleshooting issues.
- Facilitate migrations, performance tuning, and analysis of infrastructure and internal hardware.
- Implement configuration management and system monitoring.
- Centralize court systems and manage replication, provisioning virtual servers, and overseeing all related Virtual Machines (VMs).
- Monitor databases and support the overall infrastructure environment.
- Analyze and resolve performance issues related to networking and OS, while also providing application upgrades.
- Ensure configuration management, monitoring, and maintenance of all hosted servers.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree with 5-8 years of relevant experience.
- In-depth knowledge of the field, with a comprehensive understanding of both general and detailed aspects of the role.
- Ability to provide innovative technical solutions to complex problems, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
- Work independently under general direction, determining approaches to solutions with outcomes reviewed for effectiveness.
- Contribute to the successful completion of specific programs and projects, recognizing that failure to achieve results may lead to significant delays and resource expenditure.
- Extensive experience with VMware virtualization, including design, implementation, and management of VMware environments, particularly Datacenter clusters managed by vCenter.
- Minimum certification in VCA Data Center (or Cloud) is required.
- Proven Linux System Administration skills (RHCE preferred).
- Effective project management and Database Administration skills (Preferred: MS SQL and Linux SQL).
- Familiarity with Windows (Preferred 2008 and later) and Active Directory.
- Strong networking knowledge and experience in a complex data center environment.
- Proficiency in Bash and PowerShell scripting or equivalent experience.

Clearance Requirement
Must be able to acquire and maintain Public Trust.
