About the Role

This position plays a vital role in providing exceptional patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. As a Patient Care Technician, you will perform and assist with individual activities of daily living, as well as certain treatments, according to established policies and procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Patient Care: Under the direction of the nurse, prioritize and organize care for assigned patients, performing basic nurse's aide skills as outlined in orientation, competencies, policy, and procedures.
  • Documentation: Document on patient charts, any treatments, and pertinent observations. Provide report to the team on tasks completed.
  • Unit Maintenance: Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly unit.
Certifications and Licensures
  • PCT Certification: Must hold an internal MidMichigan Health Patient Care Technician certification or a current State of Michigan registry document as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or completion of Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification culminating in licensure in the state of Michigan or completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse program culminating in licensure in the State of Michigan.
  • BLS Certification: Basic Life Support certification within 3 months of hire or transfer.
  • Team Advanced Training: Techniques for Effective Aggression Management within 6 months of hire or transfer.
Required Education
  • High School Diploma or GED: Required.
