Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to perform finance and accounting support work across multiple areas of finance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Reporting: Run financial reports and prepare financial information for tax schedules and tax forms.
  • Correspondence and Compliance: Review correspondence regularly and either forward emails to the appropriate parties or complete requests therein from various authorities.
  • Tax and Compliance: Assist the Director, Tax and Compliance with the preparation and submission for state and local filings and extensions.
  • Cash Management: Prepare daily cash balances report and assist with cash transfers.
  • Banking and Transactions: Monitor certain banking transactions and communications, providing back-up for positive pay and other banking decisions, and follow-up on uncashed checks or escheatment requirements.
  • Financial Analysis: Assist the Financial Reporting Manager in preparing and analyzing monthly variance analysis of the trial balance and financial reports, explaining variances, ensuring proper recording of transactions, and providing summaries for the Financial Planning & Analysis team.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1-3 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Skills: Proficient Microsoft Excel skills for reconciliations and reporting, strong attention to detail, effective verbal and written communication skills, analytical skills to identify discrepancies, trends and potential issues, ability to learn and become proficient with financial management systems and other software, strong organizational and time management skills.
Working Conditions
  • Work Environment: Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, and temperature.
  • Physical Demands: Stationary position - frequently, no heavy lifting required.
  • Travel: Minimal travel (e.g., 2x/yr.) to conferences and meetings, as necessary.
