Position Overview:

The Automotive Sales Consultant is responsible for facilitating the sale of new and pre-owned vehicles while ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction throughout the process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Achieve sales targets set by the dealership.
  • Welcome customers and assess their vehicle preferences.
  • Provide detailed explanations of vehicle features and conduct demonstration drives.
  • Recommend additional options and accessories for purchase.
  • Calculate and communicate the total sales price, including applicable taxes and discounts.
  • Complete all necessary documentation related to vehicle sales.
  • Coordinate the delivery and registration of sold vehicles.
  • Investigate the availability of various vehicle models and options.
  • Engage in proactive business development activities.
  • Address and resolve customer inquiries and concerns.
  • Maintain customer satisfaction index (CSI) at or above company standards.
  • Keep a tidy and organized workspace.
  • Participate in mandatory training sessions.
  • Accurately record hours worked in the company timekeeping system.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to fulfill each essential duty effectively. The qualifications listed below represent the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this position:

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Post-secondary education is a plus.

Experience:

  • Prior experience in sales or customer service is preferred.
  • Experience in the automotive industry is advantageous.

Licenses:

  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Automobile Salesperson License may be required.

Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and capable of learning customer management software.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to follow instructions and effectively interact with customers and team members.

Work Environment:

This position involves working both indoors and outdoors, including customer test drives. The role requires frequent movement around the dealership and interaction with customers and other departments.
