Position Summary:

The Behavioral Interventionist (BI) provides individualized support to youth facing behavioral challenges that may disrupt their living situations. The role involves working closely with families of varying skill levels in communication, organization, and home management. The BI is expected to maintain consistency in service delivery, regardless of the family dynamics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver one-on-one support to clients enrolled in the Behavioral Interventionist program, adhering to agency policies and state regulations.
  • Maintain effective communication with caregivers to ensure service effectiveness and alignment with family routines.
  • Provide constant supervision and assistance to clients in completing daily tasks and developing life skills.
  • Utilize approved intervention strategies and engage clients in trauma-informed activities.
  • Follow the goals outlined in the Individualized Behavioral Objective Plan to assist youth in achieving their treatment objectives.
  • Document all shift activities on the same day and communicate regularly with supervisors regarding service delivery.
  • Participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities.
  • Attend court hearings and collaborate with the client's professional team as needed.
  • Maintain First Aid/CPR certification and uphold ethical standards in all interactions.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum age of 21 years.
  • High school diploma required; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience working with youth with behavioral needs is preferred.
  • Ability to perform safety holds and manage physical interventions when necessary.
  • Strong communication skills and a commitment to confidentiality.
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver's license.
  • Flexibility in scheduling and a willingness to commute as needed.
