Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of electrical engineers to design and develop electrical systems for industrial plants and facilities.
  • Develop and implement department procedures, standard drawings, and software-based tools to improve productivity and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with project teams, other departments, suppliers, contractors, and clients to ensure effective communication and project delivery.
  • Perform as lead electrical engineer on single or multi-discipline projects, directing the work of personnel and ensuring all standards are monitored.
  • Design and specification of transformers, motor control centers, switchgear, power and control panels, generators, grounding systems, lighting systems, security and fire alarm systems, heat tracing systems, and related industrial plant systems.
  • Perform basic power system equipment commissioning and start-up in the field.
  • Review supplier quotations and create bid tabulations.
  • Reviews department calculations and documents, inter-department check sets, and submittals to verify compliance with all policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Assist in developing resolutions to field design/constructability issues.
  • Provide professional seal for governmental permitting procedures.
  • Observe safety and security procedures; report potentially unsafe conditions; use equipment and materials properly.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university; Professional Engineer (PE) license and industry-related training certification(s) preferred.
  • Ten (10) or more years working in at least three (3) of the following service areas: Chemicals, Petrochemicals, Polymers/Resins compounding, and Manufacturing.
  • Fluent knowledge of all facets of industrial power systems, including project execution, conceptualization, funding, design, construction, and commissioning.
  • Thorough working knowledge of industrial power and lighting systems and industrial control systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Navisworks, AutoCAD MEP, and Revit software.
  • Possess a working knowledge of the National Electrical Code, NFPA 30, NFPA 497, NFPA 499, IEEE 1584, Building Codes, and NFPA70E.
  • Experience with power systems, overcurrent protection, protective relaying, power system device coordination, Arc Flash Studies, control wiring schematic diagrams, and detail control drawings.
  • Ability to specify power system distribution equipment up to 35kV.
