Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Head Start Teacher Assistant to join our team at Akron Summit Community Action. The successful candidate will assist the classroom teacher in providing high-quality educational experiences for preschoolers aged 3 to 5 enrolled in the Head Start program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the classroom teacher in implementing curriculum and developmental experiences for preschoolers.
  • Prepare and maintain a safe and engaging learning environment.
  • Support the teacher in carrying out classroom duties and responsibilities.
  • Collaborate with the teacher to plan and implement educational activities and programs.
  • Provide individualized support to preschoolers as needed.
Requirements
  • Secondary education or equivalent.
  • At least six months of experience in an age-appropriate teaching field.
  • Working towards a preschool Child Development Associate (CDA) certificate or equivalent combinations of training and experience.
  • Valid State of Ohio Driver's License.
