Work Environment & Responsibilities:

This full-time role at our Pee Dee Branch involves physical activities such as sitting, standing, bending, twisting, carrying, and lifting items weighing between 30 to 50 pounds. The position requires mobility and vigilance due to forklift traffic and product storage throughout the facility. The role may occasionally require responsiveness to organizational needs outside of standard working hours, and it is labor-intensive, demanding a fast-paced work ethic.

Awareness of environmental hazards is essential due to the warehouse conditions.

The working hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, totaling 37.5 hours per week.


Key Responsibilities:

The Warehouse Operations Specialist is tasked with the loading and unloading of products within the warehouse. Responsibilities include adhering to processes for effective storage and inventory management to ensure safe handling of all items.

  • Safely and accurately move products in and out of the warehouse using established inventory processes.
  • Ensure shipping documents accurately reflect product descriptions and quantities prior to dispatch.
  • Verify received products against documentation and promptly report any discrepancies or damages.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, including those related to material handling and food safety.
  • Implement a FEFO (first expired, first out) system for inventory management.
  • Assist in monthly inventory counts and reconciliation.
  • Comply with standards set by regulatory agencies.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for compliance with safety and food standards.
  • Keep the warehouse clean and sanitized, following a scheduled cleaning routine.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Preferred one year of experience in a warehouse setting and operating forklifts.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good mathematical skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other standard warehouse equipment.
  • Capability to lift a minimum of 40 pounds in a physically demanding environment.
  • Familiarity with basic inventory management principles and experience using inventory software.
  • Ability to engage and guide volunteers effectively.
