Logistics & Work Environment:

This full-time role at our Pee Dee (Florence) Branch involves various physical activities, including sitting, standing, bending, twisting, carrying, and lifting items weighing between 30 to 50 pounds. The position requires mobility and the ability to remain vigilant for traffic and potential hazards within a warehouse setting. Occasionally, you may need to respond to organizational needs outside of standard working hours. This role is physically demanding and requires a fast-paced work ethic.

Awareness of environmental hazards is essential due to the warehouse conditions.

The working hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, totaling 37.5 hours per week.


A Day in the Life:

The Warehouse Operations Specialist is tasked with loading and unloading goods throughout the warehouse. This role involves adhering to all protocols for effectively storing products while utilizing sound warehousing and inventory management practices to ensure the safe handling of all items.

  • Safely and accurately moves products in and out of the warehouse using established inventory processes and procedures.
  • Ensures shipping documents accurately reflect product descriptions and quantities prior to dispatch.
  • Verifies received products against receiving documents and promptly reports any discrepancies or damages.
  • Adheres to all safety protocols within the warehouse, including those related to material handling, food safety, and equipment operation.
  • Implements a FEFO (first expired, first out) system for inventory management.
  • Assists in conducting monthly inventory counts and reconciliations.
  • Complies with AIB, Feeding America, and other regulatory agency warehouse standards.
  • Ensures all necessary documentation for compliance with occupational safety and food safety standards is complete, accurate, and up-to-date.
  • Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of the warehouse, conducting cleaning activities as per schedule.
  • Performs other assigned duties as needed.

To Qualify for this Position, you must have:

  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • Preferred one year of experience in a warehouse setting and forklift operation.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong math skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and steadily with minimal supervision.
  • Capability to operate a forklift, pallet jack, and other standard warehouse equipment.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 40 pounds in a physically demanding environment.
  • Familiarity with basic inventory management principles and proficiency in using scan guns and inventory software.
  • Ability to engage and guide volunteers.
