Position Summary
The Logistics Branch Supervisor is responsible for overseeing, planning, and coordinating the daily operations of all logistics personnel and functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the logistics department to ensure the timely and accurate distribution of products.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory standards, including documentation for driver qualification and adherence to service hours, daily logs, and maintenance regulations.
- Schedule delivery personnel for daily and on-call shifts.
- Prepare daily routes and assign additional routes based on patient and referral requests.
- Conduct special projects aimed at enhancing productivity and reducing costs within the branch.
- Collaborate with corporate purchasing for the procurement of specialized equipment and new products.
- Address issues related to staffing shortages, route management, and equipment loading.
- Maintain close communication with delivery personnel to ensure efficient route completion.
- Assist logistics staff with special orders and equipment, including loading trucks when necessary.
- Keep accurate vehicle maintenance logs and incident reports.
- Ensure optimal stock levels in the warehouse to maximize profitability.
- Perform minor repairs and maintenance on equipment as needed.
- Respond to inquiries from patients, referral sources, vendors, and delivery personnel regarding orders and incidents.
- May be required to perform on-call duties and manage multiple branch locations.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Supervise a team of primarily non-exempt employees.
- Responsible for hiring, coaching, and managing the performance of team members.
- Conduct regular staff meetings to discuss new business requirements.
Qualifications
- Must meet company standards for background checks.
- Pass the Department of Transportation physical examination where applicable.
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to effectively communicate in person, over the phone, and electronically.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Minimum of three years of driving experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the home healthcare industry.
- Supervisory experience in a related field.
- Knowledge of inventory management practices.
