Job Summary

The Texas Department of Family and Protective Services seeks a highly skilled Senior IT Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations and activities of its Information Technology Services (ITS) department. This senior-level managerial position involves establishing goals and objectives, developing guidelines, procedures, and policies, and coordinating and evaluating business function, division, or department activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day activities of staff within a large and/or highly complex business function(s), division(s), or department(s).
  • Provide leadership to ensure assigned staff support changes based on requirements, including implementation, preparation, documentation, coordination, and monitoring.
  • Plan, analyze, research, and interpret program requirements to meet IT requirements.
  • Direct and set priorities of assigned staff related to projects, including planning, negotiating, managing, and coordinating all team-related activities.
  • Oversee the work, planning, and performance of assigned staff to ensure work priorities are efficiently completed and goals are achieved according to standards of performance and quality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in IT management, with a focus on operations and project management.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading teams and managing complex IT projects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
