Job Description

Capula is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operations Associate to join our Trade Flow team. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth execution of trades and providing exceptional support to our trading desks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Trade Processing: Accurately and efficiently process trades, ensuring all transactions are completed on trade date and resolving any queries or issues related to trade capture, settlement, and event processing.
  • Trade Support: Provide timely and effective support to our trading desks, ensuring all tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner, with every checklist item covered by end of day.
  • Trade Monitoring: Monitor trade flow processes for all products traded by our Front Office, including FX, CDS, IRS, TRS, VAR swaps, and equities, and ensure all trades are matched and affirmed on trade date.
  • Communication: Liaise with external parties, including Prime Brokers, Clearers, and Administrators, to complete trades and resolve any issues.
  • System Management: Understand and manage FIX connections and CSV upload processes with applicable brokers, and resolve any issues related to them.
  • Expiry Management: Monitor Front expiry reports and broker notifications for all products, and process expiries as per internal procedures.
  • Dispute Resolution: Resolve trade discrepancies and any position-related queries with our Front Office, Product Control, Market Risk, Administrators, Prime Brokers, or counterparties.
  • Project Support: Assist with projects related to system enhancements and re-engineering of operational flows, and support the onboarding of new products, counterparties, or third-party providers.
Requirements
  • Education: Good degree at a well-recognized university with a strong academic background.
  • Experience: 2-3 years' experience within operations at a Fixed Income Hedge Fund.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of financial products, including FX, CDS, IRS, TRS, VAR swaps, and equities; ability to cultivate relationships both internally and externally; excellent interpersonal and communication skills; and ability to work under pressure.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Excel, Word, Bloomberg, Outlook, MarkitWire, Ice, and administrator systems, as well as various other industry systems provided by other financial institutions.
