As a key member of the SCAD team, the Director of Events will play a crucial role in ensuring the university's brand is consistently represented across all locations. This involves managing, training, and leading the events team to deliver exceptional experiences for guests, hosts, and staff.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee event planning, including scope, risks, guest lists, budgets, timelines, marketing, and promotion.
- Develop and implement event concepts, dcor models, and visual materials that align with the SCAD brand.
- Collaborate with the executive director of events to develop the events calendar, secure dates and locations, and assign staffing roles.
- Pitch event ideas and concepts to the executive director and communicate approved concepts to project partners.
- Manage budgets, forecast, monitor, and ensure the successful completion of events.
- Represent SCAD at all events and create a positive experience for guests, hosts, and staff.
- Bachelor's degree
- At least six years of related professional experience and training, or the equivalent combination of education and experience
- Demonstrated experience in project management, event and team management, and event logistics in a fast-paced environment
Travel required: 20-40%
Work hours: Sunday through Saturday, with most offices open Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
