The Mortgage Loan Processor plays a crucial role in ensuring that all necessary documentation is accurate, compliant, and complete for submission to underwriting. This position is essential for meeting loan commitments and adhering to industry regulations. Responsibilities include preparing initial disclosures and managing change of circumstance redisclosures in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Compensation: $28.00 per hour based on experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process various loan types including FHA, VA, Conventional, and others, ensuring all documentation is received for underwriting approval.
- Prepare and deliver initial disclosure packages to borrowers within the required timeframe.
- Manage Change of Circumstance redisclosures to reflect any changes in loan terms or fees.
- Monitor pipeline reports to stay informed of commitment and rate expiration dates, promptly notifying relevant parties as necessary.
- Verify all supporting documentation, including appraisals and credit reports, ensuring completeness before underwriting submission.
- Maintain professional communication with loan originators, underwriters, and customers regarding loan status and requirements.
- Follow up with customers and loan officers to gather any missing or updated documentation.
- Review title commitments and obtain necessary endorsements to ensure clear title.
- Enter HMDA and/or CRA information as required for each loan.
- Report any procedural discrepancies or potential fraud to management.
- Provide mentorship and training to junior team members.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in mortgage banking.
- Technical knowledge and experience in mortgage loan processing, including proficiency with processing software.
- Familiarity with Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae guidelines.
- Previous experience with Mortgage Bot LOS is advantageous.
- Understanding of Federal and State real estate lending regulations.
- Exceptional customer service skills, with strong oral and written communication abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively and maintain effective working relationships.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
- Capability to work independently and recall a variety of information related to mortgage lending.
- Commitment to confidentiality regarding customer files.
- Attention to detail and accuracy is critical.
