Role Summary: The Mortgage Loan Processor plays a crucial role in ensuring that all necessary documentation is accurate, compliant, and complete for submission to underwriting. This position is vital for meeting loan commitments and rate expirations while adhering to industry regulations. Responsibilities include:

  • Processing various loan types including FHA, VA, Conventional, and others, ensuring all required documentation is collected for underwriting approval.
  • Preparing and delivering initial disclosure packages to borrowers within the required timeframes.
  • Handling Change of Circumstance re-disclosures to reflect any changes in loan terms or fees.
  • Monitoring pipeline reports daily to track commitment and rate expiration dates, promptly notifying relevant parties of any issues.
  • Reviewing and verifying all supporting documentation, including appraisals and credit reports, to ensure completeness before underwriting submission.
  • Maintaining professional communication with loan originators, underwriters, and customers regarding loan status and requirements.
  • Following up with customers and loan officers to gather any missing or updated documentation.
  • Reviewing title commitments and obtaining necessary endorsements to ensure clear title.
  • Entering HMDA and CRA information as required and processing adverse action loan applications.
  • Reporting any procedural discrepancies or potential fraud to management.
  • Mentoring and training junior team members as needed.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in mortgage banking.
  • Technical knowledge gained through a high school education, with three years of mortgage loan processing experience.
  • Proficiency in mortgage loan processing software and Microsoft Office.
  • Familiarity with Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae guidelines.
  • Understanding of Federal and State real estate lending regulations.
  • Strong customer service skills with effective communication abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work independently.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and attention to detail.
