Position Summary

The Environmental Engineer will ensure adherence to all applicable Federal, State, and Local Environmental Regulations, focusing on areas such as Air Quality, Land and Water Pollution Control, and Hazardous & Solid Waste Management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee environmental compliance at the facility level.
  • Compile and maintain records for regulatory compliance.
  • Report compliance status to relevant state and federal agencies.
  • Conduct on-site evaluations of facilities.
  • Collaborate with plant personnel to ensure effective control measures and routine monitoring.
  • Manage waste inventory and disposal processes.
  • Assist regulatory bodies during site inspections and engage in miscellaneous sampling projects and training initiatives.
  • Participate in ongoing education and certification to meet environmental laws and regulations.
  • Support environmental assessments at various facilities.
  • Facilitate permit renewals and conduct preliminary project reviews.
  • Assist in project permitting processes.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned while embodying the company's core values.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, along with a minimum of three years of relevant experience.
  • Comprehensive understanding of environmental regulations applicable to the role.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a strong emphasis on accuracy and efficiency in governmental reporting.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with all levels of management.
  • Certification in opacity reading via Method 9.
  • Hazmat certification.
  • General knowledge of spill response and management of deviations.
  • Proven ability to complete projects and reports in a timely manner.
  • Capacity to manage multiple projects concurrently while adhering to deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Adept at working within a highly functional team environment.
