Job Summary

Roseburg Forest Products is seeking a highly skilled Environmental Sustainability Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our environmental team, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local environmental regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Environmental Compliance Management: Manage environmental compliance at the facility level, ensuring that all regulations are met and exceeded.
  • Record Keeping and Reporting: Compile and manage records for compliance, and report compliance status to state and federal agencies.
  • Facility Inspections: Conduct on-site visits to facilities to verify control measures are being implemented and routine monitoring is being completed.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with plant personnel to ensure that environmental regulations are being followed, and communicate with state and federal regulators as needed.
  • Waste Management: Inventory and dispose of waste in accordance with environmental regulations.
  • Training and Education: Participate in training programs and continuing education to stay up-to-date on environmental regulations and best practices.
  • Project Management: Assist with environmental assessments, permit renewals, and project permitting.
  • Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by management, including modeling company core values.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Math, or a related field.
  • Experience: Three plus years of experience in environmental compliance, with a strong understanding of federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and proficiency in Word and Excel.
  • Certifications: Certified to read opacity via Method 9, and certified in Hazmat.
