Job Title:

Technical System Support Specialist

Job Summary:

Columbia University is seeking a highly skilled Technical System Support Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will serve as a liaison between the Technology Team and other units, providing technical support and maintenance for our systems and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels, restocking as necessary
  • Order parts and equipment for services, maintenance, and installations
  • Prepare and program equipment, as well as pre-wire Lenel enclosures
  • Assist in the maintenance of false alarms by running weekly Lenel reports and reviewing system settings
  • Provide coverage at the Manhattanville or CUIMC ID centers when needed
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 2-4 years related experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to excel in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in inventory control, supply chain management, and purchasing
  • Computer skills and familiarity with technology-based physical security devices
  • Reasonable technical knowledge of physical security, low-voltage electronics, and related tools
Working Conditions:

The successful candidate must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. They must also be able to engage in strenuous physical activity, including walking, climbing stairs, carrying equipment and supplies, and standing or sitting for long periods of time.
